Floss Gloss - swatches

Hey Guys,

So I know I've been out of action for like, a month, what with my exams then heading back to Galway and a pile of other poopy things, I really haven't felt any love for nail polish for a while. How sad! But I'm back and back with some swatches. Oh I know how some of ye don't really like swatches, you just kinda scroll past um but GUYS!! you gotta look at these polishes! Seriously these are insanely sweet. They are from Floss Gloss and they are unreal! Not to mention how cute the packaging they came in and they had stickers ( which of course are on my lappy top ).

Ok so, I purchased five beautiful colours Neon Nacho, Perf, Glowstar, Wavepool and Con limon. I couldn't get some of the colours to photograph well especially Con limon which is pretty much highlighter green (amazeballs) but I tried my bestest with what I have. I also thought I'd mix it up a bit and throw in a tiny bit of nail art which was inspired by Chelsea King who is so talented seriously, check her out if ye don't know her already chelseaqueen.com .

First off we have Perf which is the perfect Barbie pink with a hint of lavender to it. All of these polishes are opaque and take just about two coats and they dry with a slight matt/satin effect. For the swirls I used Neon Nacho, Perf and Glowstar.

Glowstar is up next which is a stunning green white. Sounds like madness but it is beautiful, like an ultra pastel green. Again two coats.

Neon Nacho  is a mental neon orange, I mean look at it. This time I used two coats over Glowstar just to get the full effect of the neon but to be honest you wouldn't need it just maybe three coats on its own.

Wavepool is a bright pastel blue and applies perfect in two coats.

Con limon as I said earlier is a highlighter neon green. Its seriously gorge and looks pretty darn cool on its own but I layered it over Glowstar again just for the extra pop.

So, unreal right? Man I cannot get over how fab these polishes really are but my two must haves just gotta be Glowstar and Con limon but then again I have a thing for off whites and greens so I'm kinda bias :P.

Have any of ye tried these before? Which of the above tickles your fancy the most?

NOTD - Parfait Day

Hey guys,

I have another nails of the day post with another Lime Crime polish. I just can't get enough of these. The two accent nails are both from I Love Nail Polish, in other words stunning!

The base pink is Lime Crime Parfait Day a beautiful pastel neon pink, it was a bit think to apply but again not complaining. The holographic polish is Pixie Dust from ILNP, and is it a lilac holographic beauty, yum. The glitter topper is what made me buy form ILNP in the first place, its called Emerald Dew Drops and well look at it, an amazing mix of bar, square, hexagon, circle ,small, large glitter in blues, greens and white. I love it.

Shark Week!!

Hey guys,

I decided I should do some shark week nail art being a marine science student and all. Sharks are some of my favs right now along with Turtles and Jellyfish of course. I am very excited to show these to ye, I'm so unashamedly proud of them.

Ooh look at that. I'm a proud momma. Just a warning from here on it may get picture heavy :P . I got my inspiration for these nails from a Blackmilk lemming of mine, This amazing swimsuit. I took a couple of pics of the gradient before all the art as I thought it was stunning on its own.

Gradient with sketches

Really love this too, very clean. The polishes I used for the gradient are OPI My boyfriend scales walls, Barry m Blueberry Icecream and OPI Dating a royal.

Sharkie with my BM mermaid leggings

I don't really know what else to say but I hope ye love these as much as I do. They took an age but were so worth it.

Hmmm Jelly goodness

Hey guys,

A jelly sandwich with a twist, purely out of boredom. Studying has drained me from all fun other than painting my nails, yay. Given that I started watching Buffy again and am currently watching it while I write this, not so good for study but its good to take a break right?. Anywho I'll continue with the post.

The polishes I used were Zoya Miley and China Glaze Pizazz. I painted two coats of Miley, topped it with Pizazz and finally another coat of Miley

Aren't the Zoya bottles delicious? But yeah I wasn't too keen on this at first but once I saw it in the sun well yea I loved it. Layering the sheer polish over the glitter seemed to mattify it and to be completely honest I prefer it that way. Then I got bored from study  and decided to take inspiration from my first ever nail art. OoOoOhh how exciting to look at my terrible first time.

Awe bless, would you look at that horrific nail shape, Eww. Now onto the improved jelly samich.

Well think Its an improvement anyway. I used China Glaze Creative fantasy for the drips, which is also a jelly. I like the fact you can see the thicker parts of the polish on the drips, makes it seem even slimier.

This was before topcoat and just as the light was fading

Is it wrong that I really like the above picture? Just the colours and layout, I dunno,I just love love love it. What a shame the differences between Monotremes, Marsupials and Placentals isn't as interesting as my nails :P.

Dot you just love it

Hey Guys,

Some nail art for ye, finally. Just a simple dotticure as they are super easy and quick and to be honest I've never done one before.

The bottle pictured is My vampire is buff

The Polishes I used were all OPI,
The off white being My vampire is buff, the orange My paprika is hotter than yours, the pink Koala Bear-y (tee hee), the blue Eurso euro and the green Don't talk bach to me. My vampire is buff is on the slightly thin side as I needed three coats for it which is a shame, its the perfect base colour for nail art.

I tried to do a type of gradient and an accent nail of all dots but I kind wish I had left it all gradient. They would just look better that way I think anyway.

This was a super cute mani, so cute in fact my mam asked me to do it on her nails. Which is a big deal as she always just goes for a plain colour, so I was super proud of that. I think I will be picking up the dotting tool again for some nail art in the future. It'll be nice to get to know it better :P.

A Mermaids Wedding

Hey Guys,

Just a plain old nails of the day post featuring Lime Crime Once in a blue mousse, OPI Solitaire and I Love Nail Polish Little mermaid.

Solitaire: ring finger, Little Mermaid: glitter topper,
Once in a blue mousse: blue base colour

The ILNP polish was the inspiration for this posts name obvs, it is the cutest topper and you get a lot out in just one coat with no need to jig glitters around. Its got a mixture of small blue, pink and silver glitter along with some holographic bars just stunning.
I'm not really one for textured polishes but the Liquid sand is another story, its subtle and more flat ( if that makes sense) and Solitaire would be the most perfect choice for a wedding.
As for Once in a blue mousse well, look at it, I'm not disappointed although the application was a bit on the thick side but with the colour of it I couldn't really care

I loved wearing this while we had the sun as Little mermaid just sparkled and sparkled.

How do ye feel about textured polishes? Yay or nay?

Watercolour

Hey guys,

Just a quickie post to keep things rolling while I study for my repeats ( stupid me I know :( ). Anyways here's a watercolour mani I did awhile a ago just to try out the technique. I really enjoyed this as it was simple and quite easy to do, it also didn't take all that long to do, happy out.

The polishes I used were all Barry ms as far as I can remember, lime, yellow and shocking pink I think.

In daylight
With flash
The mani was very summery and bright which I loved, nothing better than a mani that makes you look at it every time you notice your hand :P. But next time I think I'll try some pastels just to see if I can get an airy fairy type of manicure.

Have ye tried this technique before? What colours did you use?
